Austin Hills Remodel -
THE KITCHEN FINDS A NEW LOCATION
Light, an open plan, chef’s kitchen and a functional studio space were goals of this project.
The kitchen was moved from the far end of the home to the dining room . The study then was in incorporated into the open concept as the dining room. The old kitchen, on the far end of the home is now the hub for work and creativity as the studio/office.
The Living room had institutional six foot windows that were out of scale with the room, we added transoms to correct the scale and add additional light, and a view of the beautiful sunsets.
The dining room had a sloped ceiling that recessed for the chandelier. That framing was used to set in a sky light to bring in more light on the north side of that home.
I personally did the custom concrete floors on this project. The floors resembled buffed white stone, so markings and dirt have a place to hide. This home has a pool requiring a care free, water resistant surface and was a priority on the list. It’s airy, functional and gorgeous!
This home is a personal favorite. ( This project has evolved some more, stay tuned for updates.)
