GREAT HILLS REDO
Meet Carlos and Aida, wonderful people who wanted to improve their home for the enjoyment of the entire family. They had an idea of what they liked but were uncertain of how to implement it in the existing space. Feeling limited, my challenge was to fit in everything they wanted. A sub zero refrigerator, beverage center, built in oven and speed cook oven, built in espresso machine and steam oven, and of course, sink and dishwasher.
I managed to find an extra 10” in the wall where the pantries and refrigerator were located. Reclaiming that space and using cabinet pantries allowed for the integration of the appliances and extra clearance for the island. The room feels much larger and open.
Staying in the same foot print I added an increased feeling of space by designing the ceiling up and adding a channel with roof windows and lighting for ambiance and natural lighting. The homeowner added the flyover detail, and the result is stunning. Bright, height, light and open.
There was an odd and again deep closet area by the back door. I utilized that space for a custom crate area for the pets, and a drop counter and coat cabinet was built in.
The result is a Kitchen that matches the scale and grandeur of the rest of this home and family.
